Brighter Days Inc: A Year of Growth, Partnership, and Community
Over the past year, Brighter Days Inc has continued to grow in powerful and meaningful ways. What began as a nonprofit mission to provide safe, structured recovery housing has expanded into a comprehensive behavioral‑health and community‑support program serving Louisville and surrounding counties. Today, we’re proud to share the progress, partnerships, and new opportunities shaping the future of our organization and the lives of the people we serve.
🌱 Expanding Clinical Services & Strengthening Recovery Support

This expansion allows us to provide trauma‑informed, person‑centered care that supports long‑term sobriety, stability, and independence.
🤝 New Employment Partnership with New Flyer

New Flyer offers:
Competitive wages

Employment is a cornerstone of long‑term stability, and this partnership represents a major step forward in helping our clients rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
🏥 Strengthening Healthcare Access Through Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center
Our ongoing partnership with Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center continues to be one of the most impactful supports we offer. Through this collaboration, clients receive:
Primary Care (PCP)
Dental Services
Pharmacy Services
Long‑term Individual Therapy
Psychiatry Services
This ensures that every client — regardless of background or financial status — has access to comprehensive medical and behavioral‑health care. Shawnee’s team has been a steadfast ally in our mission, and we are deeply grateful for their continued commitment.
⚖️ Community & Justice Partnerships: HIP, Specialty Courts, DPA, and DOC
Brighter Days Inc remains deeply connected to Louisville’s recovery ecosystem. Our partnerships with:
HIP (Home Incarceration Program)
Specialty Courts
Department of Public Advocacy (DPA)
Department of Corrections (DOC)
These partnerships allow us to support individuals transitioning from incarceration, court‑supervised programs, and housing instability. These collaborations help ensure continuity of care, accountability, and a safe landing place for individuals rebuilding their lives. 🌐Statewide & National Advocacy: KSSC and NSSC Partnerships
Brighter Days Inc is proud to be deeply connected to statewide and national advocacy through our partnership with the Kentucky Shattering Silence Coalition (KSSC) and the National Shattering Silence Coalition (NSSC). Our Executive Director, Angeline Davis, serves as the Kentucky State Policy Director for both organizations, helping lead efforts to improve outcomes for individuals living with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Serious Mental Illness (SMI), and Co-Occurring Disorders (COD) across the Commonwealth.
Through this role, Angeline has developed the Five‑Phase Stabilization Model, a comprehensive framework designed to guide individuals from crisis to long‑term stability through integrated community partnerships. This model includes advocacy packets and resources for legislators, providers, HIP and legal partners, families, caregivers, and individuals navigating recovery and mental‑health challenges. It has been actively piloted through Brighter Days Inc and shared statewide to support more humane, effective, and recovery‑centered systems of care.

Angeline is currently earning her Doctorate in Social Work at the University of Southern California, where her research focuses on Smart Decarceration using the Five‑Phase Stabilization Model. Her work bridges policy, practice, and lived experience — strengthening Brighter Days Inc’s mission and expanding our impact across Kentucky.
🏠 New Recovery Residences through our housing program Brighter Days Inc Recovery Services: Safe, Structured, Supportive Homes for Men and Women

We are proud to announce the opening of three new recovery residences through our housing program Brighter Days Inc Recovery Services, each designed to provide structure, safety, and community: Harmon House – Men’s Phase One
A structured Phase One home for men beginning their recovery journey.
Bowman House – Men’s Phase Two
A Phase Two residence supporting men ready for increased independence and continued accountability.
Artemis House – Women’s Recovery Residence
Named for the protector of women in Greek mythology, Artemis House symbolizes strength, resilience, and healing — a safe haven for women rebuilding their lives.
Each home offers peer support, democratic meetings, accountability, and connection to our outpatient clinical services through Brighter Days Inc.
🎢 Upcoming Event: Our 2nd Annual Trip to Kentucky Kingdom
We are thrilled to celebrate recovery, community, and joy with our 2nd annual trip to Kentucky Kingdom — made possible by the park’s generous donation of passes for all clients and staff.
Last year’s event was filled with laughter, connection, and memories that reminded us all that recovery is not just about hard work — it’s also about rediscovering fun, friendship, and life. We look forward to another incredible day together.
🌟 Looking Ahead
Brighter Days Inc is growing — not for quantity over quality or for the sake of expansion, but to meet the real needs of real people in our community. Every new partnership, every new program, and every new residence reflects our commitment to providing safe housing, quality clinical care, and meaningful opportunities for individuals seeking a new beginning.
We are grateful to our partners, our staff, our clients, and our community for walking this journey with us. The future is bright — and we’re just getting started.
